PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A float shoe is a specialized piece of equipment installed at the bottom of the casing string. It contains a check valve or a backflow preventer mechanism that allows fluid to flow downward during casing placement but prevents fluid from flowing back up the casing once it's in place. This design helps maintain hydrostatic pressure in the wellbore, prevents the influx of formation fluids, and ensures proper cementing of the casing.

A float collar is another critical component placed near the bottom of the casing string, just above the float shoe. Like the float shoe, it also contains a check valve or backflow preventer mechanism. The float collar serves similar functions as the float shoe, ensuring one-way flow of fluids during casing placement and preventing fluid migration after cementing. Additionally, the float collar typically incorporates guide fins or other features to help centralize the casing string within the wellbore, facilitating proper cement placement and enhancing wellbore stability.
