Small Orders, Demanding Materials: SWS Supports Custom Oilfield Component Manufacturing

From a single Alloy 925 mandrel to titanium tool components, SWS’s manufacturing experience reflects the varied needs of special-material oilfield procurement.

Not every oilfield manufacturing requirement involves a large production run. Buyers may need only one custom mandrel, several threaded hangers or a small batch of components made from different materials. Finding a supplier willing and able to handle these requirements can take considerable procurement effort.

Jiangsu Service Petroleum Technology Co., Ltd. (SWS) supports such requirements through experience with nickel alloys, stainless steels, titanium alloys and high-strength alloy steels.

One Component Can Be a Complete Manufacturing Requirement

Among SWS’s completed jobs was a customer-supplied Alloy 925 mandrel ordered as a single piece. The component required different threaded connections at its two ends, with the work carried out to the customer’s drawing.

The quantity was small, but the material and connection requirements still needed to be addressed. SWS has also handled small batches of Alloy 925 hangers and hanger machining requirements involving both Alloy 718 and 17-4PH.

These jobs demonstrate an important part of our service: buyers can submit a special-material requirement for review even when the quantity is limited.

Experience Beyond Nickel Alloys

SWS’s work extends to Alloy 825 threading, L80-13Cr and Super 13Cr components, and BG2507 threading requirements.

Our titanium experience includes TC4 flexible rods, anti-drop rods and wear pads. We have also machined oilfield components in 4330V, 4145H, 4140 and 42CrMo alloy steels.

For buyers, this range of experience provides a starting point for discussing projects that combine special materials, custom dimensions and threaded connections.

The manufacturing scope is reviewed for each component, whether the requirement involves machining from stock, processing a customer-supplied semi-finished part or completing specified threading operations.

Turning a Drawing into an Agreed Manufacturing Scope

A useful inquiry starts with more than a material name. The material condition, existing stock dimensions, component tolerances and connection details all help establish the work required.

SWS reviews these details with the buyer before confirming the manufacturing route. Where drawings or reference models leave questions unanswered, clarification is sought before the affected operations proceed.

We accept customer-supplied material and maintain selected special-material inventory. Availability of the required grade, condition and size is checked for each project. Urgent requirements can also be reviewed against material availability and production scheduling.

Have a special-material component that is difficult to source? Send your drawing to SWS—even if you need only one to three pieces.

Include the material specification, quantity, required operations and target delivery date. If some details are still being finalized, share the available information so we can assess the next steps together.
